A idea for Absolutely free! State Wyoming was conceived by Kenneth W. Royce (aka Boston T. Person). He remains a large figure in the promotion & organization of the FSW.

Although a FSW was conceived before a Free State Project (FSP), the FSW received increased attention fallowing 1 October 2003 when the members of the FSP selected New Hampshire as the focus of their efforts. Wyoming situated 2nd in the vote. Numbers of supporters of Wyoming in this vote so chose to trend lines a FSW or else in the american United States.

A FSW continues to exist as active using electronic mail discussion groups & unionised cases. inside the summertime of 2004 & over again in 2005, the FSW held a jamboree in Crook County, Wyoming.

Goals
